Getting into shape is legit hard, I don’t care who you are. It’s especially hard if you work full time, have kids, have health issues (of any kind), struggle to feel motivated, or struggle with self-esteem. I started my fitness journey last July when Hailey and I first moved to South Carolina, and it wasn’t easy. I fell off track in about 2 weeks.
I knew I needed a change, but I couldn’t seem to get the traction. It is true, I am only 23, however, for four years I struggled with my health and thought I would never be as fit as I was before my horrific health scare. However, despite my initial hesitations, I decided to put my hands to the plow and get to work, determined to not quit.
It was about more than getting into shape for me, though. For so long I was bound by anxiety, health problems, and I constantly felt like garbage–both mentally and physically. I needed to break the chains in my life, chains that were holding me back from living life the way God intended me to. John 10:9-11 says,
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
This new series will track my health and fitness journey, past, present, and things yet to come. To get started, I would like to share some pictures to show my current progress. I always get hesitant about posting body pictures because once I got it of shape I began to have a poor self image.
Although I have not reached the end of my journey, I want you to know that if I can do it so can you. Be bold!
The photos go in order from left to right & top to bottom. The first picture was from September 2018 and the last from May 2019.
