1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.
I will not fear though tens of thousands
assail me on every side.
The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?
Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
Psalms 46: 1-3
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
Repeat these verses whenever fear try’s to come into your heart. Have courage! But what does that mean? Someone wise once told me, “Just because you are afraid, doesn’t mean you do not have courage. Having courage just means you act in spite of your fear.” So, if you are in fear today, or any day, keep these scriptures close to your heart–don’t let the enemy steal life away from you, choose to live, even when fear tries to stop you!
